We are very pleased and also proud to announce that Sarath Kundumattathil Mohanan (the picture below) has passed his PhD defence with honors. After being “tortured” with various questions for more than one hour and half, he successfully managed to demonstrate both the high quality of his work and the extent of his knowledge in ultra-low current measurement circuit design for ionizing radiation monitoring.
The jury has unanimously decided to grand the PhD grade to Sarath with the highest possible distinction : “the summa cum laude” referred to in German at Wuppertal University as “mit auszeichnung”. This achievement is even more important when you compare it with the usual 5/6 years research period that is usually required at Wuppertal university to get the PhD.
Sarath started his PhD 3 years ago at CERN under the supervision of Dr. Hamza Boukabache, Pr. Ulrich Pfeiffer and Daniel Perrin in the frame of the CERN PhD Program. He is currently continuing his research in the organisation as a senior fellow.
