TÜV AUSTRIA is an international company specialising in technical expertise in the field of safety, security and quality.
Katharina Ceesay-Seitz, member of CROME team, has been this year’s winner of the “TUV Austria Science Award” for her work on a verification method in the context of the development of CERN’s future state-of-the-art radiation monitoring system “CROME” (CERN Radiation Monitoring Electronics) : http://cds.cern.ch/record/2672187/files/CERN-THESIS-2019-022.pdf CROME’s main purpose is to measure radiation across CERN sites to protect persons and to trigger alarms and interlock signals based on doses calculations and configurable conditions. As a safety system CROME has to fulfil SIL (Safety Integrity Level) 2 requirements. Katharina has developed a SIL 2 compliant method for the verification of the safety critical System-on-Chip (SoC) at the heart of the CROME monitors.
We shares the pride and joy of the recognition of Katharina’s outstanding achievement. Congratulations to Katharina !
